How AtmosAir Bi-Polar Ionization Air Purification Works

AtmosAir Bi-Polar Ionization

Airflow passes over our patented AtmosAir Bi-Polar Ionization tube. The tube energizes the air to form bi-polar — positive and negative — air ions.

The airflow distributes the energized ions into all of the spaces served by the HVAC system in an in-duct installation, or into the applicable space if a standalone unit is used. It’s that simple and elegant! The beauty of the AtmosAir system is just how easily it integrates into existing commercial and residential HVAC systems.

Problem:

• Johns Hopkins Hospital had 60k square feet of lab space with persistent indoor air quality issues. Air quality complaints were made by employees.

Action Plan:

• 4 AtmosAir 508FC systems were installed in the facility, as well as continuous air quality monitoring. Graywolf detailed air sampling was completed.

Results:

• VOCs, particles, and perceptual air quality improved with AtmosAir installed.


Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Problem:

• Air quality around Los Angeles and LAX Airport reached record-breaking poor conditions in 2018.

Action Plan:

• Over 400 AtmosAir units have been installed in over 200 air handling units throughout LAX.

Results:

• The systems delivered a reduction in odors, VOCs, airborne bacteria, viruses, mold, and particulate contamination.
• Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) reported a 90% reduction in odor-causing gasses and VOCs.
• LAX was able to reduce the size of carbon filters, lowering costs and waste generated.

Hilton’s Homewood Suites Manhattan Times Square, New York, New York

Problem:

• The Homewood Suites was looking to offer allergy friendly rooms as a new product offering in their Times Square location.

Action Plan:

• AtmosAir systems were installed in 35 guest rooms at Hilton’s Homewood Suites Manhattan Times Square. AtmosAir is a Hilton partner and various locations offer the ‘AtmosAir Allergy Friendly Rooms’ program. AtmosAir systems are integrated into the fan coil units at the hotel providing fresher, cleaner air and less allergens.

Results:

• AtmosAir improves indoor air quality significantly by removing particulate matter, mold spores, allergens, and TVOCs.

Orange County Elementary, Orange County, California

Problem:

• Faculty at Orange County elementary school demanded better air quality.

Action Plan:

• AtmosAir installed one classroom with a Matterhorn 1000 system to see what effects this would have on room air quality.

Results:

• The IAQ testing took place over a 4-month period. In order to eliminate any predisposition the rooms might have to prevailing environmental conditions, the air purification system was switched between rooms during the middle of the test.
• In addition, independent laboratory DTS Environmental measured 60 mold spore samples in accordance with EPA/SCAQMC/OSHA requirements. An NVLAB-accredited laboratory analyzed the samples.
• AtmosAir significantly reduced TVOC and mold spores when installed in the classroom.
